This one-of-a-kind leather bracelet is an unmistakable work of wearable art, handcrafted entirely by Houston artist Lorena Medinilla in her studio. At its center sits an iridescent mosaic heart — a hand-assembled fragment of dichroic material that catches light in blues, greens, golds, and reds — cradled within a smooth white oval cabochon and crowned by an arc of hand-stitched gold crystals.

Spiraling outward, the bracelet erupts into a world of texture: hand-dyed silk threads in deep plum, magenta, and chartreuse; tiny gold rings and antique brass beads; carved wood and glass accent beads; and a supple black leather band bordered with rows of hand-placed gold studs. The leather is soft and flexible, draping naturally against the wrist. Every element was chosen and placed by hand. No two are alike — ever.

Formerly carried in Anthropologie stores nationwide and Free People, and currently available at Kuhl-Linscomb in Houston and the Museum of Fine Arts Houston shop, De Petra pieces are collected by women who refuse to be ordinary — artists, architects, musicians, and tastemakers who know the difference between jewelry and art.
